It’s exactly what I imagined, but still a bit of a letdown. No pot of gold or welcoming streamers. I can, at least, say I’ve hiked the entire length of the Pilot (Tower) Trail now. I’ve been coming here for ten years, and that’s the first time. Next thing you know I’ll have hiked the Blair Witch Ridge trail, which is another trail I’ve yet to hike at Hercules Glades.
I stopped a moment to have a drink and decide what to do next. I studied the map and decided to back-track a bit and then start bushwhacking west towards Beaver Creek, water, and camp for the night.
