Lazy Camera Picture – Fujifilm Finepix F30 – My first digital camera, a Fujifilm Finepix F30, bought in 2006. Two-minute read, 3 pictures
In honor of the season, it’s a Fall Sweet Potato Chip.
Flower Frog – I had not heard of the term ‘Flower frog’ until a few weeks ago when one was suggested by Ginger as a good way to store / hold / display fountain pens.
And the same picture in color … When I noticed the sunlight dappling the flower I decided to take the picture, no matter how twee hibiscus flower pictures are. Thinking about it; for a better shot I should have got the sunlight in the background behind the stamen.

Beretta PX4 Storm Compact 9mm – Taken for no particular reason except I wanted to take a picture and didn’t have anything else to hand that would fit on my desk that was vaguely photogenic.
Function vs Form – This is one of those odd conundrums that often troubles me. When form and function meet and reinforce each other, I don’t have a problem. Examples of this are my current camera, my Swiss Navy knife, and dare I say it, my Beretta. However, when form and function diverge and do not reinforce each other I have big issues choosing between a product with elegant aesthetic design and its functionality. In some cases the tension this causes for me is tangible and on-going. Five-minute read, 6 pictures
Blue Glass Porsche – It’s been over a year since I got my Fujifilm X-E2s camera, and thus far I only have a couple of complaints. The first is that I didn’t buy it (or the X-Pro2) long, long ago. The second is that in the past year I’ve not had a lot of time to just sit and play with it. two-minute read. 2 pictures
Feet Up and Taking a Break – We’ve been a tad busy of late, so I took a day off and just sat in the back yard.
White-Marked Tussock Moth – (Orgyia leucostigma) +1
How many old cameras do I need? This is not a serious attempt at a picture, I was just pointing my camera at things in my office late one night.
A Carpet of Fall Leaves. I really like the full frame version of this image, but I love how this close-in crop brings out what I call a ‘painterly rendering’ from the camera. 2 pictures
I saw the swirly bulb and light fitting, and felt compelled to take this picture. There is no more to it than that. Is this a harbinger of a photo-mojo revival? Then my frivolous side wants to say: “don’t call me Swirly.”
Tubby was very enamored with this bird video a friend posted to Facebook. He also took quite a shine to a video of the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church – Bishop Michael Curry. Who knew? Unlike Getzger Tubby has never been to the blessing of the animals.
So much click-bait, so little time…
30 Rounds – Another trip to the range. You’d think all I do is go shooting. Not so. Well, apart from sitting at my desk working, watching Marvel’s ‘Agents of Shield’ and some occasional yard work, I guess right now it is. One-minute read

Range Time: 9mm Desert Eagle – I enjoy shooting. I find it relaxing and – believe it or not – peaceful. Five-minute read, 9 pictures
It’s hard work, but someone has to do it
There is a cat in a Santa suit sitting on my desk…Which explains why Ginger and Lanie took so long on the school run this afternoon.
Glock 17 – Another good thing about having visitors from the UK is that I can ask my friends if I can borrow their handguns to take down the range. 2 pictures
We both have had long days at the computer recently, so the idea of sitting out in the back yard burning off a few of our deadfall limbs and twigs was a welcome diversion.
Gary and Tubby (365:363) – I was taking some family portraits and I forgot to include myself, so here I am with Tubby. One-minute read, 5 pictures
