Christ Episcopal Church

I have spent a lot of time doing voluntary work for the church. I also spent a fair bit of time there – whether helping out or attending services. Not to mention my EFM (Education for Ministry) classes.

The light of the world – Jesus said, “I am the light of the world; whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” — John 8:12

Stained glass window in the Chapel of The Good Shepherd – This stained glass window is in the Chapel of The Good Shepherd, Christ Episcopal Church. We’ll forego the debate on the full meaning of the sacrificial lamb.

Altar and Stained Glass – This morning I had a meeting at Christ Church. When it was over I went to find pictures to accompany evening prayers. The altar was bathed in a pool of light where the cleaner had turned on the altar spotlights and left the rest of the lights off. It made for a picture I couldn’t resist. One-minute read

Lanie – Senior Recognition – Ginger and I visited Christ Church today to watch Lanie receive her Senior Recognition. As you can see from the pictures, we were keeping a low profile at the back of the church. 6 pictures

There’s something very serene about the view across the darkened church from the sacristy door. It made a nice change for me to be taking pictures in the church just for myself rather than for some official diocesan or church event.

Christ Episcopal Church Springfield, MO - Stewardship Poster

My idea this year was to emphasize just how much the church does and what is at stake if we don’t maintain a healthy level of giving of our time, funds, and experience (time, treasure, talent to use church-speak).

Today I got to see my friends John and Kris receive their EfM certificates. Four years, all done.
